  • Are you a lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender community group in need of resources?
  • Do you want to donate money to lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender community groups?

Yes?

Then the Healthy Communities Fund may be able to help you.

The Queensland Association for Healthy Communities (QAHC) has established the Healthy Communities Fund (“the Fund”) to support small LGBT groups, organisations and projects. The Fund can support projects which:

  • build & strengthen lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender communities in Queensland
  • promote the health & wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender Queenslanders
  • support fundraising activities for lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender groups

Applications are welcome from:

  • LGBT groups & organisations
  • LGBT businesses
  • LGBT individuals or informal networks (the project must benefit the community, not the individual)
  • QAHC volunteers
  • Mainstream organisations (the project must benefit the LGBT community and involve LGBT people in its management & delivery)

Two grant rounds will be available per year. Organisations can apply for as little as $50 or as much as $5,000 and may make more than one application.

Please note new application guidelines and form.

Closing date for Round 4 is 30th June 2009 for projects starting in September 2009.

A list of successful projects from the first round (January 2008) can be found here. This may give you some ideas for projects and activities that can be funded.

The future of the Fund is reliant on donations from individuals and business. If you would like to make a donation to the fund please go to www.qahc.org.au/donation or ring 1800 177 434.
