Registrations now open for Health in Difference 2010!Earlybird rates until 26th March Health in Difference is Australasia's premier conference on the health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer and other sexuality, sex and gender diverse (LGBTI) people. It is being held in Sydney 29 April to 1 May 2010. Health in Difference is a unique forum drawing together community organisation representatives, health practitioners, researchers, academics, policy makers, advocates, community members and others interested in health & wellbeing, gender, sex, and sexuality to ‘do diversity’, share their knowledge, network, learn, and laugh. Under the overriding theme of 'doing diversity', Health in Difference will address key concerns for LGBTI people, including but not limited to mental health and suicide, ageing, violence, experiences of young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islands people, culturally and linguistically diverse people and other specific groups, alcohol and other drugs, health promotion strategies, parenting and health service access. We have had an incredible response to our call for proposals and the program is currently being finalised. The topics are considered in relation to 5 themes:
