Meet the Parents: A review of the research on lesbian and gay families

This report summarises the last 25 years of research relating to lesbian and gay parenting. The report demonstrates that lesbian and gay parents are 'like' heterosexual parents in considering that their children do not demonstrate any important differences in development, happiness, peer relations or adjustments. This report was produced in 2002 by the Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby.

Lesbian Parenting: Issues, Strengths and Challenges in Australia

This articles outlines the results of the 2001 Lesbian and Gay Families Project conducted by Ruth McNair, Deborah Dempsey, Sara Wise and Amaryll Perlsez. 136 women participated in the survey exploring family formation; methods of conception, family structures, roles of the biological and non-biological mothers and the biological father; support, strengths and challenges for lesbian-led families. This article is published in the Family Matters Journal, No.63 Spring/Summer 2002, Australian Institute of Family Studies.

Learn to Include Project: Resources for children with parents in same sex relationships

This website provides educational early childhood resources that incorporate same sex parented families, including four children's books about a young girl and her lesbian mums. These resources have been written by an Australian primary school student and her lesbian mum, and aim to promote inclusiveness and the acceptance of diverse families within primary schools.

Learn to Include Teachers Manual: Teaching and learning about diverse families in a primary school setting

The Learn to Include Project has been developed a mannual to assist primary school teachers in exploring family diversity in the classroom and include same sex parented families in early childhood educational resources. All products have been developed in consultation with the NSW Department of Education and Training, including teachers working at public schools in NSW.

COLAGE: Equality and justice for people with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents and families

Is an American organisation that provides support, resources and information to LGBT families. COLAGE provides a series of referral fact sheets outlining useful books and resources for members of LGBT families. QAHC LGBT Families: Sexuality and Gender Identity Awareness Training

This 8 hour workshop explores how sexuality and gender identity can impact upon family relationships for both parents and children. The workshop seeks to raise awareness of some of the specific issues that affect LGBT families and to provide mechanisms to support inclusive service provision to LGBT people and their families.
